Gold Medal Ales are produced monthly
in recognition of some of the 'greats' of history. On August 18th 1985, New Zealand fireman Philip Rush stepped into the English Channel at the start of an epic swimming marathon. 68 miles and 28 hours later he stepped onto the French side to become the World record holder for the fastest two-way and three-way crossings. This is a record that stands to this day and as a retired swimmer Philip now plays an invaluable role as coach to New Zealand's Olympic marathon swimmers. Kiwis can't fly, but this one can certainly swim. |
